…Joy-Con it is, I guess
There are a few control options for Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu and Eevee, but the Nintendo Switch’s best choice, the Pro Controller, won’t be supported. I feel like I probably should’ve seen this coming.
The official Japanese Nintendo page for Pokémon: Let’s Go confirmed as much.
Nintendo has really pushed the optional Poké Ball Plus peripheral for the Pokémon: Let’s Go games and emphasized the ability for players to “throw” Poké Balls with the Joy-Con controller. Another high-profile Switch release, Super Mario Party, opted out of supporting Pro Controllers. So here we are.
It’s a shame, because I adore the Pro Controller. It’s sturdy and has a bit of heft. It’s comfortable in my hands. The battery seems to last forever. All in all, the gamepad will be sorely missed.
I’m still going to get around to Pokémon: Let’s Go at some point, but this is disappointing.
