Being an annual franchise, by the time one WWE 2K game is out, I’m already wondering what the next one is going to be like. So, what do we have to look forward to with WWE 2K24?

To start, we can look forward to WWE 2K24 coming out March 8, 2024. It’s coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

As for what’s new, there are a number of features getting added. There are new special match types like Gauntlet Match, Special Guest Referee, Ambulance Match, and the Undertaker’s Casket Match. Previous match types, including WWE 2K23’s Wargames are being held over. Plus, the Backstage Brawl area is being revamped, and will now allow for four combatants at once.

MyGM, MyRise, MyFaction, and Universe modes are all making a return along with some upgrades. If you’re like me, MyGM is the mode you’re most interested in. 2K promises that it will be expanded, but details are a bit sparse. At the moment, it just sounds like “more.” Showcase mode will also return. Entitled 2K Showcase…of the Immortals, it will focus on the biggest moments from 40 years of Wrestlemania. However, like last year, there is a separate MyRise for men and women.

In terms of general improvements, 2K says that they’ve revamped around 90% of the facial animations, so hopefully, they won’t be as stiff as they have been in the past. There’s going to be super finishers, the ability to dive from the turnbuckle onto multiple opponents, new weapons, and double titles matches. Perhaps most importantly, the creation suite will now have a quicksave button so you can save without having to fully exit out. Unfortunately, they don’t mention reorganizing everything, which it desperately needs.

Finally, Cody Rhodes will be on the cover of the Standard Edition, while Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair are on the Deluxe Edition.

Those are the basics. WWE 2K24 is coming out March 8, 2024. It’s coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
