Ever since 2007’s The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters, we’ve collectively become entranced by this overblown Billy Mitchell vs. Steve Wiebe (vs. Hank Chien) conflict. I guess we all love a good fight.

The majority of you will be pleased to hear that Wiebe has reclaimed the top spot in Donkey Kong with his latest Twin Galaxies-approved score of 1,064,500 points. For the sake of context, Mitchell’s highest is 1,062,800, and Chien’s is 1,061,700.

It’s a shame the record wasn’t broken during a live session, which Wiebe has participated in multiple times and come up unsuccessful, but that’s what happens when only a few thousand points makes all of the difference between the three highest scores.
