It’s a dangerous world out there in Enshrouded, but one way to boost your chances of survival is to always be equipped with the right gear. Before you can start crafting the armor sets you need, you’re going to need some materials.
Fur Patches are going to take up a handful of slots in any expert survivalist’s storage crate. They’re an integral part of sustaining your Animal Fur supply and keep yourself well-armored when you’re out exploring the world. The best sources for Fur Patches that I’ve found in the game are rats.
You’ll run into rats in all sorts of dingy, dank places. I had some good luck farming Fur Patches from rats in the basement of the large house in Harvest Homestead. The village is just a little ways East of the Springlands Fast Travel Point. It takes 10 Fur Patches to create Animal Fur at the Hunter, so depending on what your current inventory looks like, you might be better off looking for Animal Fur directly.

The Hunter offers a handful of different crafting options that require either Animal Fur or Dried Fur. Essentially, Fur Patches are the basic ingredient in both of those items. The Hunter converts the Patches to Animal Fur, and the Drying Rack converts the Animal Fur to Dried Fur. If you’re spending a ton of time wandering through basements, you might encounter enough small creatures to keep the Hunter supplied with Fur Patches, but in my experience, it was much easier to farm Animal Fur.
Almost any animal that you kill out in the wild drops Animal Fur. The wolves and goats that surround the site of your first base both drop Animal Fur, and they all respawn every time that you reload the game. Ultimately it doesn’t matter where you get your Fur, as long as you have enough to craft whatever armor you need.
