This resource is necessary in Genshin Impact, so thankfully, there are many Fungi enemies to source it from. They’re all over the Sumeru region (as you can see in the above image), both in the jungle and the desert areas. Any type of fungi enemy will drop Fungal Spores. However, try to avoid using pyro and electric attacks towards them as that reduces the chance of the resource dropping. Bring out a strong Xingqiu or Chongyun instead, for example.

These fungi are usually in packs on the main paths of Sumeru. They’re all over the place. They’re fairly easy to take down, especially if you’re higher level. They’re also accessible to any player, unlike the Inazuma resources characters like Gorou need.

How many Fungal Spores do you need?

Fungal Spores are needed to ascend the following characters: Baizhu, Kaveh, Nilou, Tighnari, and Nahida (who is a fantastic healer). It makes sense they’re all from Sumeru. It’s also used for levelling up talents for all five of these characters, in addition to Aether and Lumine. Weapons like the Staff of the Scarlet Sands and Fruit of Fulfillment also need Fungal Spores to ascend.

But how many do you need to level your characters up? Nahida needs the following amounts of Fungal Spores for each ascension:

  • 1st – 3rd
  • 2nd – 15

Then, you’ll need to craft or find Luminescent Pollen and Crystalline Crystal Dust to go to elevated ascensions.

Can you buy this resource?

Yes, you can buy this resource. Go to the Stardust Exchange, and you can get three Fungal Spores per five Stardust.
