Where to catch Ancient Arowana in Tears of the Kingdom

You’ll need it for a story quest

There are tons of materials in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, so it can be hard to keep track of everything. Not only do you have to deal with all of the ingredients and odds and ends that were previously present in Hyrule from Breath of the Wild: you also have to discern new items that only spawn in the sky islands or the underground depths. Here’s where to find Ancient Arowana.

What are Ancient Arowana in Tears of the Kingdom?

The Ancient Arowana is a type of fish that is typically found in the Zora Kingdom.

You will need an Ancient Arowana for a story quest in the Zora realm, so knowing its location is important!

Where do you find Ancient Arowana in Tears of the Kingdom?

The easiest way to reach them is to head directly to Shatterback Point: a long stairwell next to Mipha Court: located to the east of Zora’s Domain in the Lanaryu region. The exact location of the stairwell is located in the gallery above, and the Ihen-a Shrine is located nearby so you can quickly teleport back.

Run up the stairs and jump into the water at the peak to locate several Ancient Arowana swimming in the water. Dash up to them and collect them with the A button. Along the stairs up to Shatterback Point you’ll also find a ton of Bright-Eyed Crabs and Hot-Footed Frogs. It’s a decent spot to pick up some critters for cooking!
