Starting 2019 as you mean to go on

Looks like we already at the end of the first week of 2019, if not the first full week, but why be picky about these things? Fact is, the new year is underway and I’m already quite ill, which better not be a portent for things to come over the next 12 months. Not again.

Most of us, including those who had a holiday, are now back into the routine, rolling into work and holding on for that Friday feeling. Today is Saturday, if you hadn’t noticed, so the weekend starts here, hopefully bringing all of you the opportunity to play some sweet vidya gamez.

I, myself, have played almost nothing this week, save for a lengthy session of Street Fighter V with a friend. Some so-so fun was had, but I can’t get over my curious visit to the in-game store and the £256 worth of DLC that lay within, an enormous chunk of which cannot be purchased with in-game cash – which itself has just taken a huge cut in weekly earnings. Fucking for shame, Capcom. Seriously.

What have you been hitting this week? That is, if you didn’t have a new resolution to play less games. I hope your return to the regularity of normal life has been smooth and stress-free, and that you find some time for yourself over the next day or two. I don’t know you, but I’m just going go ahead and tell you that you’ve earned it.
