The finger thing means the taxes
Good morning, friends, and welcome to Whatcha Been Playing? I hope that your year has gotten off to a fine start and that this is a really happy and prosperous weekend for you. My weekend, unfortunately, will be spent with my arch-enemy, Maths. It is January, and that means that the tax office is breathing down my neck even though I paid it last year. How much money do they want? The answer is all of it. Still, this is why the trains run on time, there are fleets of fire engines on our streets, and our beloved, devoted NHS service is fully funded — with all its workers fairly compensated… Hmm…
Anyway, after that grumpy start from yer boy, let’s get to matters of all things gaming!
I’m here, I’m queer, I don’t want any more bears
So far this young year, most of my spare time has been taken up with movies, rather than games. I have just as large a backlog in flicks as I do in digital adventures. I have spent a chunk of time with the newly released Breakers Collection, a very joyful ’90s fighter given a new lease of life via QUByte Interactive. I have also spent some time online with our very own Occams, mashing our way through a selection of classic Capcom brawlers such as Battle Circuit and Final Fight. Oh, and we also played some Tekken 7, where I was introduced to his unsurprisingly baffling range of custom characters.
The tail-end of January and the start of February brings with it a selection of new releases, which I will no doubt be checking out for this here website. Some of these I’m looking forward to. Others, not so much. But I’m still grateful that we get them at all. After all, you gotta take the rough with the smooth — It just makes finding those true gems all that much sweeter. Ya hear me?
I’m a write-off
Anyway, I have to get back to crunching those numbers, lest Irwin R. Schyster comes knockin’ on my door. But, if you want to cheer me up, then can do so quite easily.
