What is Warcraft Rumble, and how to play

How to play the latest Blizzard spin-off.

A new Blizzard Entertainment game has hit phones near you, and it’s got a different look than you’d expect. Warcraft Rumble is the latest Warcraft spin-off, reimagining the world in mini-figure warfare.

The latest Warcraft game officially launched today, as part of BlizzCon 2023. It’s available to download now, and the good news is, it’s relatively straightforward to acquire, learn, and get way too invested in. Not that I’m speaking from experience or anything.

Just what is Warcraft Rumble?

You might look at Warcraft Rumble and have an immediate reaction of, “oh, it’s Clash Royale.” To be fair, you’re pretty much right; Warcraft Rumble certainly follows in the footsteps of line battlers before it.

With a base on each side, players use gradually accumulated gold to summon units through their mini-figure collection. Just drag and drop, and your little combatant runs down the lane towards the enemy.

Of course, the strategy is all in team composition, resource management, and the tug-of-war over lane control. This is one area where Warcraft Rumble shifts things up. It’s easy to approach but has quite a few interesting wrinkles that force you to think strategically, rather than simply just dropping pieces for a win.

It’s also got a fairly solid single-player offering, so even if you’re not keen on PvP, you can still find things to do.

Where to download Warcraft Rumble

The other good news is, Warcraft Rumble is free-to-play. No purchase is required, though there is a cash shop if you want to speed up your levelling or acquire a specific mini-fig.

For Android users, you can head to the Google Play Store to nab it here. Apple product owners can meanwhile get Warcraft Rumble on their iPhone through the iOS Store here.

So now you know just what Warcraft Rumble is, and you know where to download it. Not much left to do but start dropping those pieces on the board, I’d say.
