In World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Season 4, there are a ton of ways to acquire gear and catch up to start experiencing the new seasonal content. If you played the previous season, the weekly Shaping the Dreamsurge quest has returned. But what is the reward, specifically the Dreamsurge Cradle item actually used for in WoW Dragonflight Season 4?
What is the Dreamsurge Cradle?
The Dreamsurge Cradle is a currency item that when working properly, allows you to trade them for appropriate Item Level gear for that season. Basically, you do the Shaping the Dreamsurge weekly quest to obtain a Dreamsurge Cradle, and then visit Archdruid Hamuul Runetotem—the NPC who gave you the quest—and turn in your Dreamsurge Cradle in exchange for an item of your choosing.
However, as of the start of Season 4. Archdruid Hamuul Runetotem appears to be bugged. While he should be selling a variety of gear to you in exchange for your Dreamsurge Cradle, he currently does not sell any items at all. Unfortunately, a few other vendor NPC’s appear to be bugged at the start of Season 4 as well, not allowing you to exchange your currency with them.
Blizzard has confirmed they are aware of the issue, so hopefully it will be hotfixed soon, as the Dreamsurge Cradle item is extremely useful for getting started in a new season. It essentially allows you to quickly gear up an alt and start farming Mythic + dungeons and other forms of end-game content.
Even though it’s currently bugged, you can still complete the Shaping the Dreamsurge quest and go ahead and collect your weekly Dreamsurge Cradle as well as the Cache of Dreams that may have some loot in it. You can still start collecting your Dreamsurge Cradles so once the bug is fixed you are able to exchange what you have earned for powerful gear.
