What game would make the perfect partner for Rainbow Six Siege? Why, it’s Gris, obviously!

In news I thought I’d dreamed, Ubisoft has revealed a bizarre new collaboration with indie outfit Nomada Studios, celebrating one year since the launch of Nomada’s amazing adventure Gris by syncing it up with Ubisoft’s own… Rainbow Six Siege.

This is not a joke.

Realising that both games feature the same themes of a voiceless young woman’s existential nightmare – formed of grief and heartbreak – made physical through exquisite-yet-haunting imagery, Rainbow Six Siege is rewarding all players with a free Gris-themed weapon skin, so you can ponder the fragility of the human spirit whilst hooking a car battery up to some razor wire. All you need do is login to Siege before December 15 to unlock both the skin and its matching charm free-of-charge.

Ok, I’m being somewhat glib. I’m a huge Rainbow Six Siege fan, (as many of you know), and my undying love for Gris is well-documented. But I also enjoy Gingerbread Lattes and Piri-Piri Chicken… just… maybe not as part of the same meal? Still, if this promotion makes more players aware of either game, then fair enough.

Rainbow Six Siege recently began its newest season, Operation Shifting Tides, bringing new operators Kali and Wamai to the roster, along with a revamped Theme Park map. Meanwhile Gris deservedly bagged the Games for Impact gong at last night’s Game Awards ceremony, despite its lack of C4 explosives and high-velocity sniper rifles.

Rainbow Six Siege is available now on PS4, PC and Xbox One. Gris is available now on PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch and iOS devices.
