Last year, Nintendo announced an upcoming Wii channel that would allow owners of Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl to transfer their Pokemon from either DS game over to their Wii for purposes of sorting and storage. Then, the world yawned. Now, the official Nintendo sanctioned Japanese web site dedicated to this Wii channel has been updated with new information.
Will our world rejoice or despair over this earth shattering news? Hit the jump for details.

For my money, the most interesting thing this channel has going for it is the new appearance that transfered Pokemon take on after making the move from the DS to the Wii. They become Mii-ified, a look that is exactly one part hideous and two parts adorable. The updated Japanese website for the channel now features some high res. screens of these “Poke-Mii-mon” in all their chunky butt glory. That in itself makes the site worth a quick look. It’s not everyday you get a chance to see Pokemon who look like they’ve had their limbs cut off and are suffering from Hydrocephalus.
Other features include a creepy/cute campfire dance mode, copious photo opportunities, and the ability to watch a cow girl rub and ride your Pokemon. Plus, the channel may also feature some sort of army of Pikachus. That is totally going to give me nightmares.
No price has yet announced for this “game”, but like the already launched Everybody Votes and Check Mii Out channels, it may end up being free. Everyone’s Pokemon Ranch launches in Japan sometime in March, so we’ll know soon enough. I’d tell you more, but that’s all my limited Japanese reading skill will allow. If you can do better, please show me. The comments are right down there.
Oh, and as for the “rejoice or despair” thing, that’s also for the comments to determine. Are you inclined to accept this channel in your ever blossoming refrigerator packed with wonderful Wii experiences, or is Everyone’s Pokemon Ranch just another example of Nintendo doing their jobs wrong?
