Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 is an incredibly solid title that blew fans away when it was initially released. Over 2 million players jumped in within the first week, and it doesn’t feel like things have slowed down since. Focus Entertainment has been welcoming questions from fans when it comes to requesting features and feedback, and the publisher has now answered a lot of these in a massive Q&A session on Steam.

The most impactful responses from Focus Entertainment that I’ve noted are for difficulty and PvP. Veteran difficulty for the game’s campaign is going to be adjusted in the future because it’s just too challenging when playing solo. Part of the problem is that the AI bots aren’t as useful as they could be, but this is by design because developer Saber Interactive doesn’t want the bots to take all the glory and focus from the real players.

This is something Focus Entertainment goes into great detail on because a fair few players have called out the bots for not being as good as them in each mission. The same goes for certain weapons, or every weapon that isn’t the Melta Gun, that feel as though they’re underpowered. This is being looked at and changes are on the way, but there’s no date on when.

The fix that I think is the most important is a fix for spawn camping in PvP. You can walk around to the enemy team’s spawn point with a Heavy class and annihilate them for more than a minute before the spawn resets to the opposite side of the map. Thankfully, spawn protection is coming in a future update, after which I think PvP will be in a much better state.

There are loads of other tiny fixes on the way that’ll make Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 feel even better as we play it for dozens more hours while unlocking every perk and cosmetic. While we won’t be getting Chaos Space Marine armor, it does look like XP sharing for kicked players, new classes, and more melee weapons are definitely on the cards.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 really delivers the Warhammer 40K fantasy in video game form. There’s so much to do in it already, and with features like PvP prestiging and more Operations missions on the way, there’s never been a better time to dedicate your life to the Emperor and join in.
