As of now they are three world bosses in Diablo 4: Ashava the Pestilent, Avarice the Gold Cursed, and Wandering Death, Death Given Life. While we got to see Ashava the Pestilent first hand in the Diablo 4 beta, the other two you will be experiencing for the first time while exploring Sanctuary.

In order to be prepared for your first encounter with this new enemy, we have created a Wandering Death Diablo 4 world boss guide to tell you everything you need to know.

When and where to find the Wandering Death world boss

As of now, it appears World Bosses spawn every four to six hours in Diablo 4. Once it spawns you will receive a notification letting you know how long until the boss spawns. You will also see an icon on your world map indicating the location the foe will appear, which lasts until the World Boss is defeated.

The Wandering Death can actually spawn in one of two different locations. The first is the Saraan Caldera located in the Southeastern corner of the Dry Steppes. Once you have progressed far enough in the campaign quests, this world boss can also spawn in the Fields of Desecration located in the Southwestern part of Hawezar.

How to defeat the Wandering Death world boss

The Wandering Death actually has a handful of abilities you will need to outmaneuver throughout this fight. That being said, most of his attacks are telegraphed so you can easily Evade them. These are all of the Wandering Death world boss attacks:

  • Death Beam — Two beams will shoot from his hands while he slowly spins. As he loses health the number of beams will increase, and deal more damage. Stay between the beams while he spins to prevent damage.
  • Death Crater — Creates a crater that explodes and does damage after a few seconds. You can get trapped in the center of a crater and will have to destroy the wall with attacks or use a mobility skill. The explosion does a good bit of damage, so be sure to Evade this attack.
  • Death Grasp — Two hooks will fly out from the boss underground then retract back to the boss. If you are caught by a hook you will take a lot of damage and be pulled to the boss. As you lower his health more hooks will spawn.
  • Death Pound — The boss slams the ground in front of him then behind him. Each attack creates spikes that shoot out of the ground. As his health decreases this attack will deal more damage and cover more ground. This attack can be very lethal once he has lost some health.
  • Death Shout — Wandering Death shouts, sending shockwaves throughout the area. If you are hit by a shockwave you are knocked back and take a little bit of damage based on how far you are from the boss.
  • Death Tornado — Tornadoes spawn and swirl around the area dealing consistent damage. The tornadoes spawn three at a time, and increase in amount based on his health.

Rewards for defeating the Wandering Death world boss in Diablo 4

As with all the world bosses, you will be rewarded with loot and XP for getting the kill. Furthermore, you will receive a handful of Scattered Prisms. These rare items are very important as they add sockets to your gear, allowing you to put powerful gems in them.

That is all for our Wandering Death Diablo 4 world boss guide. You should now be equipped to take down this boss and reap the rewards for doing so.
