Perhaps not happy with Ghost Recon Predator — a title previously outed by the OFLC — Ubisoft has been doing some trademarking in its spare time.

Its newest trademark acquisition is for a Ghost Recon Future Soldier. To Wikipedia!

Future Soldier is the overall name given to a multi-nation military project by the United States and its allies launched in the late 1990s. Future Soldier is also name of the major international military exhibition for NATO and Partnership for Peace members.

What’s unclear is if both Predator and Future Soldier are titles in-development with Ubisoft, or if it’s just two names for the same product. I mean, how many Ghost Recon games could Ubisoft possibly be working on? Well, considering the publisher released one a year from its 2001 debut through 2007, my guess is a lot. A lot of Ghost Recons.
