During the past week or so, Electronic Arts has been slowly unveiling the first major downloadable content for SSX, piece by piece (literally). Thankfully, most of us missed out on the pre-announcement shenanigans and still get the news anyway: the “Mt. Eddie & Classic Characters Bundle Pack” is coming May 1 for $7.99.

Mt. Eddie promises to deliver the “classic SSX experience” and is inspired by SSX Tricky. It’s got nine drops and includes three unnamed “retro” songs, so this should be pretty darn good. What’s more, the DLC contains seven characters, each with their own snowboard and multiple outfit color schemes.

They’re going to allow players to grab Mt. Eddie and the character line-up separately for $5.99 each; at those prices, though, you might as well just grab the whole bundle. Having long since given up on the prospect of Tricky or SSX 3 re-releasing on XBLA/PSN/Steam, I can dig this. Also, holy crap, Tricky came out in 2001.
