Cheap Ass Gamer’s phear3d spotted a in-store sign at his local Toys R Us that points to the retailer making the move to used game sales. Look out, GameStop!
A big red sign says “Sell back your used video games and receive store credit.” Store credit only, huh? The games have to come in their original case and come with their manual, says the fine print. Game discs “cannot be cracked.” No sh*t. Also, no “A” rated games are accepted. Ha!
I had no idea that Toys R Us was selling used games, so I called a few of their stores to find out how long this has been going on.
The Lake Wells, Florida store had no idea what I was talking about. “No. No we don’t,” said a store staffer. A couple of other New York stores gave me responses that made me feel silly for asking. The Bronx, New York store’s front desk: “Um…no.”
So, while we’re waiting for a more official answer, we’re asking you if you’ve heard anything on this front. Is your local store doing this? Could it be something that they are just testing out. Let us know in the comments below.
