The renowned anime adaptation of the Tower of God Webtoon is coming back for a second season. Though it is rare to see Webtoon series receive a second season, Tower of God Season 2 is preparing for its long-awaited return. Find out the Tower of God Season Season 2 release window and what to expect from the new season below.
Tower of God Season 2 release window, explained
Tower of God Season 2 will debut sometime in July 2024 as part of the summer anime season. An exact release date has yet to be given, but if it follows the trends of past summer anime seasons, it should drop sometime in the first half of the month. This was confirmed in the Season 2 announcement trailer, which showed a July 2024 release window at the conclusion of it.
The long-awaited release of Tower of God Season 2 comes almost exactly two years after the reveal of a second season in August 2022. In addition, it will drop more than four years after the first season concluded in the summer of 2020. The wait has been a bit brutal for fans, but the new season is almost here.
How many episodes in Tower of God Season 2?
Unfortunately, an official episode count for the second season of this beloved anime adaptation isn’t yet known. That said, if it follows the trends of the first season, it should have a single cour-worth of episodes, or around 12-13 in total. However, there is the chance it could cover a full 24-episode season, especially given the length of Season 2 in the original Webtoon.
The first season in the Webtoon series only covered 78 chapters, whereas the second part is more than quadruple its length at 337 chapters. It is highly unlikely the second season will be able to cover all of that content sufficiently with only 13 episodes. We will have to wait and see for now.
Where to watch the new season
Tower of God Season 2 is already confirmed to be airing simultaneously in English via Crunchyroll worldwide. Fans won’t have to wait too long after its release in Japan for episodes to air on Crunchyroll with subtitles. However, there is no word on an English dub version at this time. Fans can catch up on the first season right now through Crunchyroll as well.
What to expect from Tower of God Season 2
As mentioned, the second season of Tower of God should pick up with the beginning of the second part in the Webtoon. After all, the first season cleanly ended there. It should continue with the group’s plan to take Rachel all the way to the top of the tower after passing their tests. With a potential 337 chapters of material to cover from the original source this season, fans should expect each episode to move at a brisk pace, even compared to the first season.
