September 3, 2013. Commit that date to memory — it’s when Total War: Rome II releases globally.

Creative Assembly is offering DLC, the Greek States Culture Pack, as incentive for pre-ordering the game. This includes Epirus, Athens, and Sparta as playable factions. With the latter in particular, the studio promises “a considerable challenge to the advanced player wishing to restore the famous city state to its former glory.” Challenge accepted?

Lastly, there’s a ridiculous collector’s edition which includes a functional Onager (Roman siege catapult), among other things. The package is $154.99, without shipping, so feel free to join me in pretending it doesn’t exist. Or, alternatively, check out the full contents in the image below if you can spend that kind of money on such things.
