Depending on how well Brütal Legend does on PC, we may be able to take part in some new adventures in the world of metal.
Schafer explains what he would change, speaking to Rock, Paper Shotgun: “I mean, we have a wishlist from when we made this version. But since we are a small developer publishing it ourselves, we have to go with the best version we can make and then hope it’s successful so we can add more. I would love to do alternate gameplay modes in multiplayer. I’d like to bring in Lionwhyte as a playable faction. There are some tweaks I’d like to do to give you more feedback about what your units are doing”
Although Brütal Legend was a major disaster commercially, Double Fine is now literally rolling in money, so I can’t see why Schafer couldn’t tweak it to make it the game he wanted it to be.
I had the chance to speak with Schafer about Brütal Legend a little before its launch, and he was extremely passionate about it. If he wants to revisit this world, without the legal bullsh*t that went along with the console release, I really hope he’s able to.
Pending PC success, Brutal Legend will go on [Rock, Paper Shotgun]
