Styx: Master of Shadows was a really great, pure stealth game. Not only that, but as a prequel to Of Orcs and Men it did an excellent job of fleshing out Styx’s character with a surprisingly interesting story.

If these new screenshots of the upcoming sequel Styx: Shards of Darkness are anything to go by, we’re in for another treat. They show a bit more variation in the visual design (colour! Actual, real colour!) than what we saw climbing around Akenash, yet still seem to retain the verticality of Master of Shadows’ level construction.

I really hope we get to see the game in action soon, because while you can’t judge a game by its screenshots, these have certainly boosted my excitement for the game.

Styx: Shards of Darkness is out sometime in 2016 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. If you’re on Xbox One, Master of Shadows is one of the free games this month as well, so totally go and get on that.
