‘No plans…at this moment’
Normally when a game like Phantasy Star Online 2 is announced for localization, we get a ton of bad news slowly drip-fed in like a monkey’s paw type situation. Not this time: so far, at least.
The localization team has been taking to Twitter hardcore these past few weeks, answering fan questions and putting some unrest to ease. Not only did we learn that the western version of Phantasy Star Online 2 (including the beta) would support both English and Japanese voice options, we also now know that the game itself is going to be region free.
Speaking to a fan on Twitter, the official account explained that there are “no plans to region lock Phantasy Star Online 2 at this moment.” As our own Kevin Mersereau points out, that’s great news for fans in countries outside of North America (which is the only confirmed second quarter release area for now), as they won’t have to worry about not playing the game.
As a reminder, you can pre-load on February 3. Hope to see you on Naberius!
