ESL FaceIt Group (EFG) and Blizzard Entertainment have announced that the Overwatch Champions Series (OWCS) is bringing its World Finals to DreamHack Stockholm 2024. The event will take place between November 22 and 24, 2024, and is the first major in-person event for the esports league in years.
During the OWCS World Finals, eight of the world’s best teams will battle it out to see who is the best Overwatch 2 group while fans can enjoy watching the physical event and exploring the lifestyle gaming festival over the course of three days. Of course, there will be much more than the tournament for Overwatch 2 fans to enjoy, with various physical activations to keep fans busy in addition to everything Stockholm’s first-ever DreamHack festival has to offer.
Live Overwatch 2 and a gaming festival
The Overwatch Champions Series has already exceeded our expectations, and we’re excited to cap off the year with our first-ever championship in Europe. Our first OWCS LAN showcased the continued appetite Overwatch 2 fans have for international competition, and we expect that passion and excitement to reach new heights in Stockholm.

The OWCS World Finals at DreamHack 2024 follows an incredibly successful DreamHack Dallas showing earlier in 2024. The show’s seating sold out, and the event racked up over 2.5 million hours watched live, with a concurrent viewer count of almost 130,000 people.
Players who want to compete in the World Finals have between now and September 20, 2024, to tighten up their teamwork before the Stage 4 open qualifiers begin. The winner of those qualifiers is automatically put forward into the World Finals.
If you’re hoping to attend the physical event and watch the OWCS World Finals in person, you can pick up a ticket for DreamHack Stockholm 2024, which includes entry to the tournament. There’s an add-on when purchasing tickets if you want to buy guaranteed seating at the event.
The final event for any esport is always the most exciting. I’ve attended one for ALGS and EA Sports FC, and at both the atmosphere was electric. Fans worldwide gather together, online or at the event, to celebrate the game they love and the people who are the best at playing it out of the millions of us who log in every day.
If you’re planning to attend the OWCS World Finals, it sounds like it’s worth making a bigger trip of it and seeing as much of Stockholm’s first DreamHack festival as possible. There will be plenty of time around each Overwatch 2 match for you to see the gaming activities on offer and enjoy the event to the fullest.
