I’ve been pouring drinks out for the Wii U for a few years now. I just love that little system that could[n’t] so much and still have so many good times with it that I can’t help myself. I’ll be here until the very last vestige of the Wii U is destroyed by Nintendo, and this week they’re one step closer.

As revealed on Facebook, the official Wii U page is being shut down:

From Nintendo Land, right through to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, thank you for being part of our Wii U journey. We’ll be closing this page on Friday, November 9th. To stay up to date with all the latest Nintendo news, join us at the Nintendo, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS pages. Thank you, and keep on gaming.

If you recall, Nintendo is basically trying to remove all trace of the Wii U on their official pages, even going so far as to remove the system tab entirely from their official website. As a reminder, some publishers still release games on the Wii U and the eShop is updated a few times a month. It’s mostly dead, but every once in a while a sign of life (like the aforementioned Facebook page) pulses from the great beyond.

As far as Facebook is concerned: no more.
