With the release of Nexon’s online third-person looter shooter The First Descendant, there are 14 characters in total available at launch. More will be coming later, but for now, it’s important to choose the best character that fits your playstyle as each one plays very differently. We’ve put together this The First Descendant character tier list so you know which characters you should play.
The First Descendant Character Tier List
Since the final beta for The First Descendant ended on May 26, Nexon has been busy applying meaningful buffs and nerfs to all of the characters based on player feedback. Characters in the S Tier typically have some excel in AoE and single-target damage, as both are important functions in a looter shooter. Those in the A Tier are strong in a single role such as tanking, supporting, or dealing damage, but do not excel in both formats like those in the S Tier. Characters in the B Tier may have some specific scenarios in which they are useful but overall cannot compete with those in the final tiers. Finally, those that are in the C Tier are simply a bit under-tuned at the moment and require some buffs to be viable options. It’s important to note that while this tier list has been updated for launch, it’s subject to change based on balance changes the developers put out in the coming weeks after launch. Furthermore, while some characters are certainly stronger than others, this is comparing them based on an equal skill level of the player across all characters. If you’re very good at playing a character in the C Tier, you can very well outperform someone who may not be as skilled as a character in the S Tier.
