For those not in the know, The International is pretty much the Super Bowl of the Dota 2 pro scene. There’s a bajillion million dollars at stake for the first place team, which is one of the biggest prize pool in eSports. The tournament began today and will run until Sunday.
I can remember watching The International last year without even knowing anything about Dota 2. I had no idea what was going on, but it was still entertaining to watch and the commentators did a pretty good job explaining things since they knew there would be a lot of unfamiliar eyes on the streams. Now I’ve spent over 200 hours in Dota 2 and I am super excited to be in the know and watch some top level play. I’ll be rooting for the first team to pick Alchemist or Bat Rider.
