The Best AS VAL Loadout in Call of Duty Black Ops 6

It's time to create the ultimate AR!

Widely considered the best assault rifle in the game, given its built-in suppressor, excellent handling, and ability to stay lethal no matter the range, the AS VAL makes speedrunning to level 55 more than worth it in Call of Duty Black Ops 6.

But as no gun in the game is perfect, picking the right modifications and equipment is a must if you plan on truly turning the weapon into the ultimate AR. Here’s the best AS VAL loadout in Call of Duty Black Ops 6.

The Best AS VAL Loadout in Call of Duty Black Ops 6

As the AS VAL has its high overall recoil as its biggest weakness, we will start by mitigating that through the use of the Vertical Foregrip and Recoil Springs, all while boosting the gun’s overall time-to-kill and range by using the Suppressed Reinforced Barrel and its ADS and Slide to Fire Speed with the Ergonomic Grip. We will then close off by adding an optic for that always-welcome boost in precision.

Although the above will allow you to keep the gun as steady as it can be and boost its bullet velocity by 30%, using the Gunfighter perk will allow you to take its performance even further by equipping the Balanced Stock for an increase in overall mobility and the Extended Mag I for what can be a game-changing increase in magazine size (believe me, 10 bullets will make a huge difference here). For those who don’t mind the presence of a beam when in ADS, the Target Laser will offer a great boost in accuracy when aiming down sights.

To recap, here are the best modifications for the AS VAL in COD BO6, as well as a few variant picks sure to offer great results:

  • Optic: Kepler Microflex / Accu-Spot Reflex
  • Barrel: Suppressed Reinforced Barrel
  • Rear Grip: Ergonomic Grip / Using the Quickdraw Grip can also work if you are not a fan of sliding
  • Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
  • Fire Mods: Recoil Springs (Will offer a massive boost to recoil control)
  • If Using Gunfighter:
    • Stock: Balanced Stock / No Stock
    • Magazine: Extended Mag I / Flip Mag
    • Laser: Target Laser

Best equipment and perks for the AS VAL

Now that our gun is sorted out, going with a set of three Recon perks will be your best bet when using the AS VAL, as they will give you access to its meta-defining Specialty and allow you to highlight enemies across the whole map after each spawn. While your Lethal option will depend on your playstyle, I recommend using the Flashbang as your Tactical so that you can open targets and clear rooms more efficiently. You can check out the best perks, secondary, and Field Upgrade for the AS VAL, as well as a little more on our already mentioned picks below:

  • Secondary: Grekhova (The only full-auto pistol in the game, I considered it a primary weapon in all but name)
  • Tactical: Flashbang (A great tool for any scenario, given its ability to blind targets).
  • Lethal: Will depend on your playstyle
  • Field Upgrade: Morphine Injection (Will pair well with our secondary of choice and allow you to come back to the fight) / War Cry / Sleeper Agent
  • Perk #1: Ghost (Will lower the sound made by your footsteps)
  • Perk #2: Forward Intel (Will boost your minimap and pinpoint the location of targets after being spotted by them)
  • Perk #3: Cold-Blooded (Will make you immune to thermal and UAV. Will also stop killstreaks and cameras from tracking you)
  • Wildcard: Gunfighter for the extra attachment slots or Perk Greed for the ability to add Double Time to our perk list

The Best BO6 Zombies AS VAL Loadout

As the presence of beans won’t mean a thing when facing the infected, the best BO6 Zombies build for the AS VAL will have in the Tactical Laser (and thus in the ability to enter the tac-stance) its biggest differential when compared to the above. We will also be using the Quickdraw Grip to double down on ADS Speed. To recap, here are the best attachments for those looking to take the AS VAL for a spin in Black Ops 6 Zombies:

  • Optic: Kepler Microflex (or any optic that does not offer diminishing results)
  • Barrel: Suppressed Reinforced Barrel
  • Rear Grip: Quickdraw Grip
  • Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
  • Stock: Balanced Stock / No Stock
  • Magazine: Extended Mag I / Flip Mag
  • Laser: Tactical Laser
  • Fire Mods: Recoil Springs

To close our Zombies loadout, we will use the Stim Shot for a boost in survivability. I also recommend using either the Energy Mine or the Aether Shroud as your initial Field Upgrade, as while the former will allow you to get rid of large sums of infected, the latter will make escaping critical situations and reviving teammates way easier.
