Consider me SHOCKED

When I played TERA at launch, it felt like it was designed for a free-to-play audience. There were so many “kill X of Y” quests that it made me a bit nauseous. Now that it will be free-to-play starting in February, the grindy nature of the quests fits right in!

Don’t be swayed, though — the combat is excellent and once you get around level 23, you start fighting BAMs, or Big Ass Monsters (yes, that’s what the game calls them), and it starts to get way better. Now that it will be free, you should definitely give TERA a try.

There’s an official FAQ on the site, and it seems as if you can begin an unlimited free trial of the game immediately, with some limitations, and carry that character over once it goes free-to-play. That’s a pretty sweet deal, considering the level cap is above that 23-ish mark. If you were interested in the game earlier, there’s no better time than now!
