[Update] Looks like LonexWolf606 actually won the contest. Sorry! Worse still, I can’t PM him/her for some reason. If you’re reading this  LonexWolf606, email me at jonathan@destructoid.com so I can get you your winnings.

[Original Story]  First, the winner of the contest from last week. It’s blutapes. Congratulations! You named the most games with the words “Dead”, “Dark” or “War” in them. Yikes, I expected there to be a lot of games, but I didn’t think there were that many. I sent you a PM, so be happy about that.

As for this week’s episode, it’s all about Final Fantasy. It’s pretty standard stuff for the first few seconds, but things go berserk pretty fast.

It’s hard to think of what else to say about this without giving away too much. Maybe I’ll just say that lately I’ve been thinking a lot about how arbitrary the standards of gamers can be. We recorded this episode (and all of these episodes with Birdie) about a month ago, but still, I’ve been pondering the strange ways that some gamers assess the worth and appeal of their games for at least that long.

That must have something to do with the episode… or maybe it doesn’t? I don’t know, it’s all sort of a blur. At this point, I feel like this series pretty much makes itself. I get to steer where it goes a little bit, but for the most part, it all just sort of happens, and then I’m stuck with it.

So yeah, I hope you like this one. It’s got Final and Fantasy, so that’s got to make at least a couple of you happy, right? And even if you hate it, you might want to stick around for the ending. People are saying that it’s better than the beginning.
