25 years ago Bethesda launched The Elder Scrolls: Arena, which started a fantasy world that’s continued to dominate the conversation of video game high fantasy.

But it wasn’t until 2002’s Morrowind that the publisher really struck it big, entering the mainstream in a way it hadn’t before: a success that would only progressively shift into overdrive with Oblivion and Skyrim, the latter of which is now ubiquitously referred to when speaking on the open world genre or Elder Scrolls as a whole.

You can celebrate that legacy or quietly grab a free copy of Morrowind: the choice is yours. Basically, you just need to log into the Bethesda.net website with your account and redeem the code “TES25TH-MORROWIND” (which is automated all over the site) and you’re good. Originally Bethesda was just going to run the promotion on the anniversary of The Elder Scrolls yesterday, but ended up extending it until March 31 due to a buggy system.

You have until Sunday to get the GOTY Edition of the best Elder Scrolls game to date. Bethesda is also doing promotions for the MMO ESO and the card game Elder Scrolls Legends if you’re interested.
