Stardew Valley dev is posting patch note lines every day until 1.6 arrives

"Non-spoilery" patch lines, though, so don't worry.

Just recently, Stardew Valley creator Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone posted a teaser from the upcoming 1.6 patch notes. Well, it turns out there’s more where that came from, as the developer says they’re going to post something similar every day until the new update arrives.

Over on Twitter/X, Barone has uploaded another screenshot from the patch notes, this time in reference to a “fixed bug where it was faster to harvest left-to-right than right-to-left,” which has apparently been a small glitch in the game this whole time. The post on X ensures us that lines from the changelog will be “non-spoilery.”

As for when update 1.6 will actually be released, it’s scheduled to begin rolling out on March 19, so next Tuesday, all being well. Fans in the Stardew Valley have been eagerly awaiting this next iteration of the game, which is said to be bringing even more content.

Please sir, I want some more!

Released in 2016 – we just passed its eighth birthday – Stardew Valley quickly became a global sensation. Many consider it to be one of the greatest indie games of all time, combining SNES-style visuals in a colorful world with relaxing farm-based gameplay mechanics.

So popular is Barone’s title that an orchestral tour went global, which featured a live performance of the game’s chill soundtrack. That alone was such a hit, that additional dates had to be added.

What’s next for the developer, then? Well, once update 1.6 is out, many will be anticipating further details on the new project Haunted Chocolatier. We know very little about this game, but what we’ve seen currently does make it look like it may not steer too far from the Stardew aesthetic.
