Star Ocean: First Departure R gets new trailer, release date

Square Enix has announced that Star Ocean: First Departure R, a remake of a remake announced a few months back, will be heading to the PS4 and Switch on December 5, 2019. Alongside that news is a brand new trailer, giving us our first glimpse of how this new version will look. You can clearly tell this has roots as a PSP game, but I quite like the sprite work.

While light on changes to gameplay, the trailer does at least confirm dual audio will be present. The dub doesn’t sound so bad here, but I’m always a stickler for playing with the original audio. Call me a weeaboo all you want, because I am one. I won’t deny that fact.

You can find some more info on the official website. First Departure R will be present at this year’s Tokyo Game Show, so we’re bound to learn more in the next week or so.
