STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl characters and voice actors

Who's the Snork, though?

Even though the classic STALKER games of yore might never have been all that cinematic, that’s bound to change in STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Cinematic cutscenes and dialogue, for one, are hugely improved, and the characters and their respective voice actors are much more important than ever before.

In fact, we already know that STALKER 2‘s main protagonist, Skif, will not be a silent stand-in for the player. Instead, Skif will toss out quips and talk it out with the various folks he meets in the Zone, which is a far cry from anything we had seen in STALKER beforehand. Regardless of whether you end up playing the game with the English voice-over or the original Ukrainian version, it’s clear that having good talent behind the characters is positively crucial this time around. Here are all the voice-actors we already know about in the game.

On the English VO side of things, we already know that Alex Montyro will be voicing Skif. Montyro has previously voiced characters in several smaller-scale video game productions, including 2018’s Vigor and the more recent Way of the Hunter. He’s also made appearances in Extraction 2 and a variety of TV shows, such as Foundation. As far as mainstream roles go, this may be his biggest and most important one yet, at least as far as STALKER fans are concerned.

The legendary Strelok (the protagonist of the very first STALKER game, Shadow of Chernobyl), is bound to make a doubtless bombastic appearance in Heart of Chornobyl too, this time voiced by David Bowles. Bowles acted in The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Carnival Row, and The Crow, and began his career all the way back in 1986. The man’s got tenure, that’s for sure.

We also know that Kevin Michael Clarke, James Beaumont, and Stewart Kenneth Moore will be voicing various characters throughout STALKER 2, though there’s been no word on which roles, exactly, might each of them be playing. To summarize what we have so far, then:

  • Skif – Alex Montyro
  • Strelok – David Bowles
  • Various characters – Kevin Michael Clarke, James Beaumont, Stewart Kenneth Moore

On the Ukrainian VO part of the equation, things are more mysterious still. It’s been confirmed that Vlad Pysarenko will play the role of Richter. Similarly, Leonid Zakharchenko will take up arms as Coloner Korshunov, the leader of the Ward faction. Finally, we already know that Alexander Vilkov will be in the game, who STALKER veterans will remember for his emblematic rendition of the Barkeep in the old games.

As you can probably tell by now, not much is known about the full cast of STALKER 2‘s voice-acting chops, but we’ll keep this list updated as we learn more.
