Stalker 2 Dangerous Visitors quest: Should you save Gloomy?

Saving is caring

The Dangerous Visitors quest is one of the first side missions you’ll get in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, and it sheds light on the decision-making system inside the game.

The mission begins right after the completion of the Prologue and your encounter with Richter. Once you save Zhorik from three bandits, he will give you two choices. You can wish to dupe him and loot his stash, or you can help save Gloomy (captured by the bandits). By every sense of judgment, choosing to save Gloomy is the more sensible choice, so that answers the header, and let’s find out how you can do that.

What happens if you don’t save Gloomy in Stalker 2?

You can choose not to help Zhorik since it’s not related to the main quest. If anything, the side mission can feel dangerous at a time when all Skif is carrying is his pistol (and the Viper from the downed bandits). You can simply loot Zhorik’s supplies (which you can still do after or before helping Gloomy).

But if you refuse to help save Gloomy, the Post Office team, including the former and Zhorik, is likely going to end up dead. I just felt about becoming a devil on the very first day of my adventure, but helping to save Gloomy isn’t about my petty feelings. Doing so will actually help you to get significantly better rewards.

How to save Gloomy in Stalker 2

The process is pretty simple as your victim is being held captive at the Boiler House (refer to the blue marker on the map). There’s a small stash located to the west of where Gloomy is held, but mutants surround the spot. The loot you’ll get after saving Zhorik would be enough to save Gloomy.

You can take a stealth approach, but it’s not going to matter much. Additionally, taking down all the bandits isn’t difficult. Just make sure not to rush in all guns blazing, and use the covers available in the location. Once you’re done finishing them off, head upstairs, and Gloomy will be waiting.

He will offer you another sensor to help you. If you refuse, Gloomy will reveal the location of his stash (I went with the Sensor but should have gone for the stash). The Boiler House is filled with valuable resources as it is, and you can always loot the dead bandits for more of them, including guns and ammo. There’s a stash located right behind where Gloomy is standing, and it also dumps a lot of resources.

These resources are going to ease your journey till you reach Zalissya.
