For those not familiar, Tokyo Game Show (TGS) is a massive event where developers descend on Chiba, Japan, for an extra long weekend of announcements, gameplay, and more. Typically, some companies telegraph their plans so attendees and those at home can keep up with the new gaming announcements. Square Enix is no exception to that, as the company has revealed its timetable for TGS.

It’s been a big year for Square Enix. Between the release of Final Fantasy XVI and the seemingly endless flow of updates to Final Fantasy XIV — not to mention the eventuality that is Kingdom Hearts IV — it’s safe to say the future looks busy for Square.

What’s on the Tokyo Game Show schedule for Square Enix?

To start things off with a clean coat on September 21 at 9:00 p.m. JST / 7:00 a.m. EST, the Japanese localization staff of Power Wash Simulator takes the stage to reveal some new information about the game. This session will feature performers such as Susumu Imadate, Mirin Furukawa, Ken Akaishizawa, Ken Rose, and Daisuke Yamamoto.

Then, on September 22 at 8:00 p.m. JST / 6:00 a.m. EST the Square Enix Music program takes a slot, but as of writing, no additional information was revealed about this event. An hour later, Hidetaka Kano, Kenta Sakai, and Masayuki Kibe will take the stage to play the publisher’s featured titles available at TGS 2023.

On September 23 at 3:15 p.m. JST / 1:15 a.m. EST, a special event themed around the Saga series will take place, including a special live concert exclusive to Tokyo Game Show. Capping off Saturday at 7:00 p.m. JST / 5:00 a.m. EST is an Autumn PC Game Festival, another timeslot with few details.

Sunday is Square’s biggest day. Starting things off at 11:00 a.m. JST / 9:00 p.m. EST is a special event centering on Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai, which launches worldwide just a couple of days later on September 28. At 12:30 p.m. JST / 10:30 p.m. EST, and continuing with the deluge of Dragon Quest content, there will be a special event detailing more info on Dragon Quest Monsters 3: The Dark Prince, which launches on December 1.

Finally, on September 24 at 1:15 p.m. JST / 11:15 a.m. EST Square Enix revealed its upcoming foam-based third-person shooter, Foamstars, steals the spotlight. Final Fantasy XIV closes things out at 3:00 p.m. JST / 1:00 a.m. EST. The 79th FFXIV Producer Letter with Naoki Yoshida and Toshio Utsumi reveals more information on the next update, Growing Light, including “actual gameplay” from Patch 6.5.

Tokyo Game Show looks like another busy one for Square Enix fans. If the company announces any more information about the existing events — or if they add more — we’ll be sure to update this page accordingly, so check back as we get closer to Tokyo Game Show.
