How to parry in Spider-Man 2 like a pro

Once you find yourself in combat, you’ll notice that Spider-Man has Spider-Senses. Which makes sense, right? But the best part is that you as the player can use the Spider-Senses to know how to execute a dodge or parry. You’ll see a white halo-like icon appear above Spider-Man’s head when an enemy is preparing to attack. As soon as the icon changes from white to red, the attack is actually starting.

This is where timing comes in. If you hit the O (circle) button on the PS5 controller right when the icon turns red, you will successfully parry the attack, allowing you to carry out a counterattack. You’ll know it worked because Spider-Man will follow-up with an attack automatically. If you are too early, you will instead just dodge out of the way of the incoming attack. This is good, but not what we’re looking for here…we’re trying to parry like a pro! Of course, if you’re too late on the timing, you’ll instead get hit by the enemy’s attack. The timing really is everything here.

It’s also important to note that you can execute this parry successfully with both characters, in the same way! Now that you know how to parry like a pro, it’s time to clean up the streets of New York City!
