Today’s the day that we all finally enter the stage of destiny. We mentioned a few weeks back that there’s a massive team of composers behind the SoulCalibur V soundtrack that includes Hiroki Kikuta (Secret of Mana), Cris Velasco (God of War, Darksiders), Inon Zur (Dragon Age, Crysis), and Andrew “zircon” Aversa from OverClocked ReMix along with others. Similar to the sound team profiles we prepared for Final Fantasy XIII-2 last week, OSV published a similar feature detailing each of the artists involved with SoulCalibur V.
Namco Bandai’s Junichi Nakatsuru talks about acting as the glue linking SoulCalibur V to past titles as the only contributor to work on every SoulCalibur title to date while Kikuta gets philosophical, Zur and Velasco discuss the differences between Western and Japanese game development, and Aversa gives advice to up-and-coming composers.
Fans who are picking up the collector’s edition today will also be getting their hands on a single-disc soundtrack (the full three-disc soundtrack pictured above can also be imported from Japan), so feel free to chime in once you listen and play to let us know what you think of how this international effort has paid off.
