Haha, this is great
I love all types of Zelda: Breath of the Wild videos equally. That sounds like an over-exaggeration, but I can get down with all subgenres of videos: cool anime sequences, new physics tricks, and comedy. This clip from choppa790bot tries to go for the gold with the first two, and ends up squarely in the last category by the end.
People who still play Breath of the Wild regularly and know all of the physics tricks can probably see where this is going based on the image above. A few months after launch players learned how to use conductors to essentially weaponize lighting, which is what choppa790bot is doing here with a Hinox world boss.
Instead, they opt for a boomerang (which has had successful anime style kill videos, mind), which promptly returns back to the user and strikes them dead. Classic! Now it just needs a sad trombone edited in at the end, or a “to be continued” bit right before Link is struck.
If you want to try it yourself, there are plenty of other ways to manipulate lighting bolts, including a strategy where you don the Thunder Helm, then use yourself as an immune rod. Or, you can throw a metal-based weapon at an enemy of any kind right before it strikes.
As a reminder we ran a poll asking if folks still played Breath of the Wild in 2019, and roughly 41% of participants said “once a week,” with about 34% saying they play “once a month.” You’ll be seeing a lot more of these types of videos for the foreseeable future as people are still playing it!
I saw this trick on Reddit, how hard can it b- oh. from r/Breath_of_the_Wild
