Should you give yen to the Man in a Suit in Persona 3 Reload?

Is it really safe to give 20,000 Yen to this guy?

Social Links in Persona 3 Reload can start in weird ways. Such is the case with the Man in a Suit you’ll see in Paulownia Mall. He’ll initially ask you for 20,000 Yen as an investment, which… seems sketchy. Should you actually fork over that much cash?

To cut to the chase, you’ll want to give Yen to the Man in a Suit if you want to start the Devil Social Link. While giving him 20,000 Yen won’t do anything at first, he will keep appearing in the mall to ask you for money as your in-game days go by. By the time you give him a total of 40,000 Yen, you’ll trigger a scene that will lead to the opportunity to begin a Social Link with him. Note that, in addition to having the cash to spare, you’ll also need a high enough Charm level.

This is one of the rare Social Links that you can advance during the night time. In other words, this one generally won’t compete with your classmates who are typically available during the day. Getting boosts for any Devil Arcana Persona is worthwhile, even if you aren’t trying to max your Social Links.

Who is the Man in the Suit in Persona 3 Reload?

While this shouldn’t come as a surprise if you’ve been watching your TV, the Man in the Suit is TV personality Tanaka. You know, from the shopping network? You’ll recognize him if you played the later Persona games.

It doesn’t feel good to willingly pay into an obvious scam, but hey, you’re here for the relationships, right? Enjoy getting to know this shady salesman!
