What Are Character Variations in Shonen Unleashed?

In Shonen Unleashed, character variations are extra Awakening movesets that certain characters can obtain. These movesets are often completely different from the base Awakening version of that character and impose a unique playstyle. The basic pre-awakening moves remain the same.

How to Unlock Character Variations?

You unlock character variations by reaching Tier 10 of a certain character’s progression. You can earn EXP and progress the path by competing in public and ranked matches. The path is unlocked by default when you obtain a character, and it doesn’t require any extra purchases.

List of all variations and their pros and cons in Shonen Unleashed

All characters that aren’t listed above do not have a variation and instead reward you with either cash or tokens at progression Tier 10. Also, know that even though a character doesn’t have a variation, that doesn’t mean they are worse than the ones that do. The different Awakening moveset is, in some cases, even worse. Still, it allows for more versatility across modes if you already like the character’s base skills.

Well, all the info above should help you in choosing which character to progress in Shonen Unleashed and whether or not to use their variation. For more info about this experience, including the SU Trello link, visit the Roblox hub here on Destructoid.
