2013’s Shadow Warrior reboot was pretty great. Developer Flying Wild Hog and publisher Devolver Digital seem to think so too, as they have just announced a full follow-up, ingeniously titled Shadow Warrior 2. Like most third-party titles these days, it’ll shuck the Wii U platform and be released on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One in 2016.

This time, four player co-op (“online” is specifically mentioned) is included, as well as a procedurally generated mode. Customizable gear is in, as well as a level-up system of sorts that will allow you to change your main character’s stats by way of “stone” items.

All of this sounds good, I just hope it doesn’t get too ambitious. The reboot was excellent because it felt like an old-school experience. This has a lot of moving parts, but I don’t have any real reason to doubt Flying Wild Hog.
