Secret buff in Warzone Season 4 makes the Crossbow a must-use one-shot kill weapon

Warzone gets a new one-shot kill weapon.

Warzone players have discovered that the Crossbow is capable of one-shot killing enemies from up to 100 meters away after the Season 4 update. Still, the change wasn’t mentioned in the official patch notes.

As part of the Season 4 update, Raven Software slightly adjusted Warzone’s meta by buffing the FJX Horus, MCW, and AMR9. According to WZRanked all three weapons skyrocketed in popularity and are used in most Warzone matches. However, no weapon gets used more than the Kar98k, which leads the pack with a 20% pick rate. Season 4 brought back the beloved sniper rifle, and it dominates just as much as it did before, boasting a one-shot kill distance of 86 with the right set of attachments.

In saying that, another new one-shot kill weapon in Season 4 has flown under the radar. Warzone Meta revealed that the Crossbow can one-shot kill any part of the body up to 100 meters away and potentially further, pending testing with the Blastcap 20″ Bolts. In comparison, the Kar98k can only one-shot kill enemies with a headshot.

It’s worth noting that the Crossbow does suffer from poor bullet velocity and hard to measure bullet drop, so the Kar98k will still outclass this weapon in long-range gunfights. If you are a Resurgence fan, this will be the perfect weapon to use on Rebirth Island or other small-scale maps as most engagements will be close enough for the Crossbow to shine. If you still aren’t sure what attachments to use on the unique weapon, we have you covered.

Best Crossbow loadout in Warzone Season 4

  • Barrel: SO Momenti
  • Optic: KR Intlas LSJ-3
  • Underbarrel: Agent Grip
  • Ammunition: Blastcap 20″ Bolts
  • Rail: 16-Strand Cable

The Blastcap 20″ Bolts sacrifice damage and range, so this loadout focuses on improving those stats to compensate for the loss. In addition, the KR Intlas LSJ-3 provides the best sightline without obstructing your view, and the other attachments will help improve recoil and accuracy to round out this loadout. It’s unclear if the Crossbow will be capable of usurping other meta weapons, but players should give it a try, especially in Resurgence.
