Sea of Thieves PS5 release date, editions, and more

Sea of Thieves is finally coming to the PS5 and we have a release date. Along with it, there are other important tidbits of information you may be interested in, ranging from the different editions, betas, crossplay, and more.

Sea of Thieves PS5 release date

The standard PS5 version of Sea of Thieves will be released on April 30, 2024. The Premium version of the game will be released five days earlier, on April 25.

Is there a Sea of Thieves PS5 beta?

Yes, if you pre-ordered the PS5 version of Sea of Thieves, there will be a Closed Beta. It’ll run between April 12 and April 15. Participating in the beta will give you the Dauntless Adventurer Title and Dauntless Adventurer Sails items.

You’ll also be able to earn Renown, currency, and cosmetics from the current season. At the end, you’ll be given 10 Renown levels as a beta participant bonus.

Is Sea of Thieves crossplay between PS5 and Xbox?

Sea of Thieves will have crossplay between PS5, Xbox, and even PC. If you are a PlayStation player wishing to play with people on other platforms, you will need a Microsoft account and link it to your account.

Does Sea of Thieves have cross-progression?

Along with having crossplay, Sea of Thieves will also have cross-progression between all available platforms. So, if you want to continue your adventures on PS5 from a pre-existing Microsoft account, you can do just that.

So, remember the two dates. Sea of Thieves will be available on April 30, 2024, for Standard and Deluxe Edition players while the Premium users will get to start playing on the 25th.
