Bandai Namco’s untested IP Scarlet Nexus succeeded in turning quite a few heads upon launch this past summer. And if you’re up for a little more Brain-Punkin’, monster-mashin’ action, then today is a fine day as the development team has released both a free update as well as another “Bond Enhancement” pack for the stylish anime actioner.

The free-for-all update, Version 1.05, adds a brand new Battle Simulator option, allowing players to square off against any of the story mode’s bosses and intergalactic guardians at a whim. Additionally, a further 20 challenges have been added to Scarlet Nexus, offering new targets and grinds to test the skills of the very best members of the Other Suppression Force. Finally, the update adds an array of new items to the in-game store, including new weapons and effect-enabling plugins, ensuring that you and the squad can go up against The Others fully loaded for bear.

The paid DLC “Bond Enhancement 2” adds 10 further Bond Episodes, allowing players to further develop their friendships (or “Bonds”) with other members of The OSF. Becoming super-close to a companion will unlock the Nexus Drive, offering up new abilities in battle when fighting aside your closest allies. Rounding out the DLC package is a selection of brand new weapon and character skins — custom-designed by veteran Japanese artist Daisuke Richard. This DLC set is available to purchase for around $8.

Both the Version 1.05 update and the Bond Enhancement 2 DLC are now live in Scarlet Nexus, which is available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms. You can check out Eric van Allen’s review of the dynamic release right here.
