It’s been a while since Heavenly Sword was at the forefront of anybody’s mind, but a new rumor suggests that Ninja Theory’s PS3 launch title is finally getting a sequel and is due to be revealed at E3 this year.
According to the gossip, Heavenly Sword 2 would be an open-world game, with a variety of weapons to master as opposed to simply one sword. The Heavenly Sword itself would need to be unlocked after these other weapons have been mastered. It’s alleged to be set ten years after the original title.
Nothing official backs the rumors up, but if the game was ever set to get a sequel, it’s certainly overdue an announcement. Ninja Theory is currently working on DmC for Capcom, but it can likely take one or two more projects under its wing. I guess we’ll have to sit tight and wait for E3.
