If you know me, you know me — I like to rock. Hard. Usually with plastic instruments.
And what if that instrument were a keyboard? Better than nothing. In fact, Jam Legend — an online music “gaming platform” — is actually pretty fun. Essentially, it’s a browser-based music game with a Guitar Hero-like interface (it’s actually closer to Rock Revolution …), where you the numbers on your keyboard as frets and the “Enter” key to strum.
The music selection is not quite up to Rock Band 2 or Guitar Hero World Tour standards; many of the artists I’ve never heard of it. But a few known acts have signed on to include their music on the service, starting with Interscope’s Rev Theory who’ve recently made its songs “Light It Up” and “Hell Yeah” available for play.
It’s not perfect, but it’s a fun diversion, especially if you’re chained to a desk all day and have a jones for pretending you’re a rock star. The site features leaderboards and head-to-head duels, so if you’re looking for something to do, I think you’ve just found it in Jam Legend.
