While you may be super lucky and catch the Colossal Squid anywhere in the Ocean, choosing the ideal location will significantly increase your chances. Plus, the preferred weather and time we listed above will further boost your chances of catching one.

Best Location to Catch a Colossal Squid

The best Colossal Squid fishing location is in the Snowcap Cave (2820, 130, 2690) at Snowcap Island. While you can catch this Mythic-rarity sea creature in other locations (Ocean), fishing in a snow cave is the best option. Use the Fisch map to find Snowcap Island if you’ve never been there. You can get to the cave on foot or boat when you reach the island.

  • To reach Snowcap Cave on foot, head left from the dock (see map above). Follow the path close to the island’s edge, and you’ll easily find a cave. You’ll have to jump a bit to get to the cave on the other side.
  • To reach Snowcap Cave with a boat, head right from the dock, and on your left-hand side, you’ll see a cave entrance.

Best Rods for Catching a Colossal Squid

The best rods for catching a Colossal Squid in Fisch are the King’s Rod and the Steady Rod, both of which have good Control and Resilience. You can easily catch it with the Trident Rod as well, though chances are that you won’t get that one early on.

  • You can get Steady Rod by visiting Blacksmith (-1515, 140, 765) at Roslit Bay. It costs C$7,000 to buy.
  • To get King’s Rod, visit a secret location in Vertigo and buy it for C$120,000.

Also, any other end-game rod, such as the Destiny Rod, Mythical Rod, and Aurora Rod, works as long as you have Resilient/Controlled/Steady enchants on them.

Best Bait for a Colossal Squid

The best baits to use for getting a Colossal Squid in Fisch give Luck or Resilience. You can get bait in bulk by visiting any island and buying Bait Crates for C$120. Of course, if your rod doesn’t need those stats, go for Lure Speed instead.

  1. Bagel, Coral, and Seaweed offer a good combination of Resilience.
  2. Super Flakes, Weird Algae, and Night Shrip give you big Luck bonuses.
  3. Rapid Catcher and Seaweed give a solid Lure Speed boost.
