At PAX East today, Gearbox revealed it is working with Hopoo Games on Risk of Rain 2. Risk of Rain was a 2D roguelike loot-based platform shooter with a kickin’ soundtrack. Risk of Rain 2 changes up that formula a bit, bringing it to a 3D third-person perspective but keeping some of the same core concepts intact, and it’s looking pretty good so far.
In its partnership with Gearbox, Hopoo has released Risk of Rain 2 on Steam Early Access today. As a little promotional bit, if you buy a copy before March 30, you’ll get a free copy to gift to a friend. It is a cooperative-focused game, after all. Play with a buddy!
