If you’re still tinkering with Retro City Rampage, developer Brian Provinciano has provided a world map for fans to print and take a look at, which includes every interior area in the game. He also provided a crazy update that I just can’t believe. You remember how WiiWare had this stupid system that required developers to hit a certain “threshold” before it paid out?

Well apparently Retro City Rampage still hasn’t hit that threshold as of this month! Brian notes plainly, “Unfortunately, the WiiWare version hasn’t done so well. While I knew the odds of releasing on this platform were stacked against me, it was a labor of love and I did it to keep my word, and for the fans. The challenge though, is that it hasn’t made a cent in revenue yet, due to the WiiWare sales threshold.” Although he did enter fairly late into the game mostly for fans, I’m glad that system is dead and gone for 3DS and Wii U.

I know people are generally polarized when it comes to this game, but I heartily enjoyed it. It’s a good love letter to the 90s as well as a functional classic GTA top-down game.
