Last week I had the pleasure of getting the very first look at Resident Evil 6, and it looks goooood. We have a full preview for you, but for your convenience here are some key new details:

  • Leon Kennedy, Chris Redfield and new character Jake Muller head up three separate campaigns that tie together in the end, each with their own partner, making for 6 main characters
  • All campaigns can be played solo or co-op, online or off, with full drop-in, drop-out support
  • The new C-virus brings back zombies, and they’re nastier than ever, able to run, jump and use weapons
  • A new control system lets you move and shoot at the same time, as well as slide, roll, or take cover
  • Mercenaries Mode returns
  • The May 22 release of Dragon’s Dogma comes with a token for the RE6 demo

More good news: the release date for Resident Evil 6 has been pushed up! It was set for November 20, 2012, but fans voiced disappointment at that late date, so Capcom moved it up to October 2 for Xbox 360 and PS3, with a PC version coming at a later date.
